So I ordered back in April of this year, I got a confirmation saying my order was received about a month ago, but no build info, then I got a email saying there is more delays due to chip shortages etc, I ordered a 2022 maverick hybrid xlt with the luxury package and a moon roof, i put a $500 deposit, I also made sure the dealer will honor msrp, still playing the waiting game hopefully it comes by march of next year lol

Think that ship has sailed. If your dealer didn't contact you to meet with them to convert it to a 2023, you're out of luck.

How did you order a Maverick in April ? Wasn’t the cutoff in January?
I'm going to guess that maybe the OP is in Canada, the order banks never officially closed here.

In San Diego California I was able
To place my order through the dealership with the 500 deposit, they did say that the ordering banks were closed that was in April once they open up my order will go through and then In September is when I received the email from Ford saying congratulations your order has been received but no build date yet?

This is what I got from ford yesterday?? So idk if that ship has sailed lol hopefully not

We understand it has been too long since you last heard from us. Today, we wanted to give you an update on the status of your Maverick XLT order.
Unfortunately, continued supply chain issues are slowing things down. We’re working diligently to try and reduce these delays.
Now here’s our promise to you. We know that waiting for delivery of your Ford is far less fun than actually driving it. So, we commit to updating you as soon as we can, at least once every 45 days regarding your vehicle’s production schedule status. No matter what.

I must say that your dealer is exceptional. They took your "pre-order" and then actually entered it as an "order" in September just like they should have. That is shamefully rare.

You then got an official "confirmed" email from Ford, so that is also very good.

Because of all the complaints last year that Ford was not communicating they are now sending emails to update us every 45 days. You got one of those which is also good. You should get one every 45 days until your Maverick gets scheduled for production. That could be next month or next July, no one knows.

You didn’t order in April, you ordered in September.
I guess we could say he "pre-ordered" in April. But I suspect the dealer just called it an "order" hence the confusion. But you are correct, no matter what he was told he did not actually "order" until September.

There’s a bunch of Mavericks in San Diego I get calls from different dealers that they have one in stock but obviously I’m waiting for mine, I’m not trying to overpay for that thing, I can wait but that’s just me, hopefully everyone is enjoying there truck👍🏼, I really wanted the off-road package fx4 but I care more about the mpg‘s right now since I already have a fully capable tundra to off-road, gas is crazy expensive in California so I had to go with the hybrid, wish they had a awd hybrid though.

He said he ordered a 22. Just pointing out that was impossible to order a 22 in April. He ordered a 23 in September.

The first thing you need to know is your dealer's expected allocation and the number of hybrids (XL, XLT, and Lariats) that are in front of you. Even though you "pre-ordered" in April, that does not mean you are at the front of the line. The MY22 roll-overs "should" be ahead of you.

Your chance of having a hybrid by March is likely pretty low. That would mean you have a late January/early February build date. Even if you are at the very front of the line, that is the period when the MY22 that had VINs and were originally supposed to already be built (that are currently being converted to MY23s) will likely be built.

Keep in mind that only roughly half of all hybrid orders placed in September will likely be built. There are dozens of threads speculating as to what the percentages will actually be but I don't think anyone here would bet real $$ that all MY23 hybrid orders will be built.

You should probably set your expectations as "late Summer". If it comes in earlier, then that is a bonus. When I placed my order on October 1, 2021 I was told "you should get it by April. May at the latest.". I am still waiting and have no faith that I will get it this year either.
