I bought my Maverick on May 27th 2023 (47 days ago)

I received my plates and Texas registration sticker from the dealership about 2 weeks ago but still no Texas Title.

Is the TX DMV just slow?

Don't get me started on the TX DMV. The only thing they are really good at is sending you the renewal notifications. I purchased one car and one motorhome out of state. The process to complete the titling, license and registration took months. For the Motorhome I had to get a state inspection first followed by a VIN certification by law enforcement then a weight slip from a certified truck scale in TX. Received the car in January and the plates and title in late April. The dealer had to reissue the temp tag three times. Still waiting on the motorhome that we purchased June 19th. In both cases the dealer was paid to handle all the license and title processes.

You bought in state? I had to jump through hoops buying out of state (ok not really... but the dealership sent me everything instead of my bank).

Can't say that I've ever been to a TX DMV, but CA and VA I have been to and they were awful. MT is actually pretty amazing. I got my registration the same week the bank finalized everything. 2 weeks total and that was just because I had to send stuff from the dealer to them.

My guess - Yea... TX DMV is slow. Have you called your bank and/or the dealership to make sure everything is finalized?

It took just a little 2 weeks from the day I went to the local DMV for the title to arrive in the mail. It took about a week for Austin office to creat a title and a week for shipping process.

Well, did you finance the vehicle? Because if you did, the financer has the title, not the DMV.

I am a local state buyer (local Texas Resident)

Paid cash. Owned 100% outright

Just called TX DMV.

Title was printed June 30th (1 month after purchase)

Maybe next week is when I should see it?
