Has anyone else had their Lariat steering wheel heat be weak? It starts off good but very quickly seems to "turn off" or be st a very low setting? I suppose I may need to get a heat gun and measure this as it is hard to quantify.

No issues on my XLT Lux. I do know it shuts off eventually, but mine gets noticeably warm pretty quickly.

I believe the temp is adjustable in Forscan, but raising the setting might be masking an actual issue in the wheel.

And I hope you mean an IR thermometer and not a heat gun. :)

I think ever since the coffee incident getting things too hot might be an issue for people.

It warms up quickly and it goes back to just a warm steering wheel. It's not meant to be extremely warm.
710-oil-614 is correct. I've had heating steering wheels in different cars going back to my 2002 Maxima which was one of the first cars to offer the feature. I remember my friends and family couldn't believe back then that the steering wheel was heated. Anyway, this how all of them have worked in the vehicles my wife and I have owned including Nissan's, Honda's, Ford's, Jeep's and Toyota's.
