Hello,
I have a 2023 mav hybrid XLT.
I was checking the mode and discovered SPORT mode.
It definitely gives the truck more power, and sounded like it was shifting through gears, but how can this be, there are no clutchs or sliding gears in a ECVT transmission.
I recorded speed and RPM with my scan tool, and it did show where the RPM would go up and drop then go back up.
Here is the picture going from 0 to 60 MPH.

Thanks for the reply. The answer is most likely buried in Ford's Vault of Mysterious and Unanswered Secrets.
Indeed.

Ever since Cadillac developed the Hydramatic transmission, and GM stashed it in Oldsmobiles first just in case it was a disaster, manufactures have been trying to hide the shifts of automatics!

Now, ford is faking what wants to be hidden?

:explode:

(and on the Hydramatic, 1/2 and 3/4 were barely detectible, but 2/3 was noticeable. No torque converter yet, so it needed 4 speeds to replace the ubiquitous 3 speed manual)

Thanks for the graph.
Just like I've been saying for years.

If you want to drag race, put it into haul ass mode.

😜

p.s. haul mode fake shifts with moderate acceleration, but not when you floor it.
