Yeah, 4.0 inline 6 cyl. Easy to work on. I did mechanic job early 60s. Condenser n points n carbs then n drum brakes. Back up camera was rear view mirrors. Many vehicles had generators, I rebuilt many. Voltage regulator finicky ti adjust fir 14.7 volts.

Glad your rattle stopped!
We got a light rattle with bumps about 6months in- Dealer put some wireless mics under the hood and drove around, and isolated noise to the front passenger strut. Replaced under warranty.

I had this exact problem a few months back. The rear brake shield had gotten a rock stuck between it and the rotor and bent itself inward where the rock couldn't get out. I figured it out after jacking the truck up and spinning the wheel and still hearing the rub against metal from the back side. Pushed the aluminum plate back, the rock came out, and all has been well since.
