CDs are to cheap streaming what a good old analog recording is to CD. When recordings are done digitally some of the sounds/vibrations that the human ear cannot detect are not on the recording. Music in its purest form has far more of an effect on the human body than digital music in many cases because of this loss of sounds that can't be "heard". Music is meant to be heard AND felt by the body.I really don't understand the hatred for physical media on this forum. I love owning CD's. I like to listen to one album at a time with no commercials. Even if I chose to pay for Spotify or any equivalent they let you choose the playlist to start then inevitably go with some trash that has me turn the volume down. If, on a road trip, I lose cell signal I get silence until I can grab signal again.
To anyone who likes streaming, more power to you. I think they'd make sense for podcasts but for me, CD's are the way.
I liken it to incandescent turn signals Soft on & offCDs are to cheap streaming what a good old analog recording is to CD. I don't like LED lighting for brakes. With incandescent, at least you had time to respond. Driving at 70 mph on the highway and "suddenly" the car in front of you is braking! Drive me crazy. And yes, vinyl and the right type of needle makes a beautiful sound. Those of us old enough to know the difference love it. Those who haven't grown up on it won't get it.I liken it to incandescent turn signals Soft on & off

LED turn signals instant on & off.
To me. Music on vinyl is more pleasant to listen to VS digital.
Queue drones.

"And I love to drive my truck down a muddy dirt road"I just use BT and Pandora. It connects as soon as I get in. Hank Williams 3 radio starts playing.![]()
Perhaps that's why that vinyl outsells CDs again.vinyl and the right type of needle makes a beautiful sound. Those of us old enough to know the difference love it. Those who haven't grown up on it won't get it.
Wasn't it Chrysler that shipped a record player as a factory option for a year or two?Perhaps that's why that vinyl outsells CDs again.
However, in a moving vehicle with all the road noise,

The catch was that it was a special format that wouldn't take a normal record, so you could only buy the handful of records Chrysler made.
And the inherent problem of a needle reading vibrations in a moving vehicle . . .
For some reason, it flopped pretty hard!

Yeah. But quickly realized a mobile phone would be more popular.Wasn't it Chrysler that shipped a record player as a factory option for a year or two?
I have this one as well and have had no issues. One of my biggest concerns in downsizing from my 2018 F150 to a Maverick was how I was going to feel about losing the CD player and sound system I had loved for the past 5 years. After waiting a year the Maverick finally came. I took a chance and ordered a USB disk player from Amazon, the "Posspo Jupiter CD DVD player for car" despite its appalling name. If you're looking to play cds in your Maverick, this is your answer. I plugged it in, set the car's audio source to USB and was stunned by both the ease and the quality of the sound I was hearing. This is even better than what I had before! Not only that, it fit perfectly under the dash using an included Velcro attachment. And the track numbers and timings are displayed on the Maverick display plus buttons to skip or replay tracks. I am one happy camper and highly recommend this unit.
