At our dealership, problems with the 2.7 are rare. Oil pan gasket leaks are the most frequent repair. And Ford finally sorted that out. A few early 2.7s had some valve guide issues. That's fixed as well. But we've only doce cam phasers once or twice on a 2,7. It's the 3.5 that's problematic. And the last generation has been corrected now as well. But the 2.7 never has been known for cam phaser issues
You work at a Ford dealership but Yet 710 -oil-614 doesn't believe You and He knows everything just ask Him!!:)

Darryl above Works at a Ford Dealership and He pretty much said the same thing as I did so why are You arguing about it? You don't think the Dealership He works at works on the Full Size Broncos with the 2.7 Eco Boost or anything with the 3.0 Eco boost in them?
Why are you arguing with me when you can go to B6G and see there are issues?

Darryl is a great resource for us but it is mind numbingly dumb to think he and his dealership alone are the authority on the cam phaser issue.

Google 2.7l Bronco cam phaser and you’ll quickly find that the cam phaser issue is not isolated to just the 3.5.

I don't see complaints about 2.7 EB Cam Phasers on the F-150 Forum I go on!!
Bah.

Ford has yet to make any Phaser with the punch to match a good old Klingon Disrupter!

That sucks. But I read too many horror stories on this forum about hybrids before I purchased my old fashioned ICE vehicle. And I stayed away from the 25 MY EB because it is new.
I read all the horror stories and the ONLY ones that came true for me was the wait time after ordered. I ordered in '22, got canceled (which freaked me out) and got converted to a '23. The only recall has been my backup camera and they did that in my driveway. I let it sit in my driveway for 3 1/2 weeks (riding the bike) and had a moment of panic when it wouldn't start before I realized all I had to do was drive off on the battery. Still wondering about these electrical bugs. I considered redoing the HV cable from the HV battery but it seems okay too.
I just read an article on problems with the 'wet belts' and I'm glad we don't have any of those.

And why did you argue with Him when He actually Works at a Ford Dealership and we don't?

Ok, I decided to step away... it's not you, it's me.... no, it IS YOU FORD!!!!!

I went full EV and got a Subaru Solterra. With the looming end of the tax credit, and the additional 4500 off, it ended up with all taxes and fees (including lease fees, yeah, I know... but I also know, so deal with it) costing less than the replacement Mav with the whopping $1500 off they thought would change my mind to stay, before anything added... I leave you with the following added benefits to my Lariat, heated and cooled seats, reclining rear seats, and self-parking for my wife, and only needing gas stations for beer! Nope, I can't tow with it, but that's what my Ram 3500 QC LB Dually can do for me when it is rarely needed.

Thanks all for everything, and I am still going to lurk, and maybe try again once I see Ford is more caring.

You made the right choice to get out of your Mav - 5x to repair something is too much.

Only you can decide if it is a good choice to lease or buy for your situation so whatever worked best for you.

I am a long time Subaru fan but haven't given the Solterra too much of a look. Also a bit underwhelmed with the hybrid version of the Forester however I am sure that you will have many happy miles and smiles behind the wheel. Congrats!
