So is this the second time Ford's knowingly sent out incorrect emails?

Likely the only way to do that is to cancel the scheduled vehicles. Automated systems generally have little interaction for cherry-picking notifications. And even if it did, that is likely very low on their priority list to just be punted altogether.
Really? Really? Cancel the scheduled vehicles if this was done? I started with FORTRAN fifty years ago; any half-assed programmer back then would have corrected the problem with a one line, if-then, statement! Perhaps the need for AI is greater than I thought. It appears the program needs to change itself.

Lol—just checked my emails. There it is from Ford. Yet another my 2022, yes 2022!!! , Maverick will be built on December 19. I would like to personally thank Jim Farley for stopping production of the 2023 models on December 19 and making MY Maverick the final 2022 model. AND in Velocity Blue !

Fully agree. But Honestly, and I hate to sound like a jerk... that pathetic ford defense force post wasn't even worth replying to lol.

The lies started long before August:

  • November 2021: Switch your luxury package or your truck will be delayed (I switched and still was pushed to 2023)
  • March 2022: Orders will be processed in the order they were recieved regardless of allocations
  • August 2022: sent out email saying that they're doing everything they can to get our trucks produced, when in reality if you weren't scheduled by then, you were getting rolled over.
  • Price protection was a lie
  • "Your truck will be scheduled at the next availability"
Ford should be ashamed at how this product rollout went.
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

A monkey could adjust the automation so it's not sending out incorrect production dates. I consider it just another example of Ford's complete incompetence TBH.
🤷‍♂️ Obviously departments aren't all talking to each other. You are right....your 22 Mav won't be produced on those dates. But that is the correct production date needed in the system right now....so that the transition orders are possible.
Honestly, I expect that they will just scrap the retail order notification process in the future. Or significantly trim it down.

I am not quite sure that I would be more agreeable to receive such a message because it is not "someone" sending me the stupid message. An entire information/data system has been set up; I presume that took quite a bit of expertise. Somewhere there should be someone to tell the system to default sending these notices without any danger of the order involved being lost forever. Order date, if it is a "place-holder" need not be deleted. Two cents worth!
No idea how the system is set up. The scheduling team probably made the decision to change order dates to facilitate the cancelling of the 22 and transition to 23, and no one told whatever part of Ford that is responsible for the automated progress-updating emails that they were changing build dates to a place holder, and that that email shouldn't be sent out.

Those automated emails are a very new feature. I'm sure the ordering/scheduling data system is much much older and that integration is a difficulty.

Frankly if you weren’t expecting delays, then you didn’t do research on what you were buying. Ford was over 2 years behind on the Bronco, get over yourself and do more research next time so you know what to expect. Ford would love to send you your Maverick, but a lot of things are out of their control with their suppliers. This forum is mainly just people complaining about their orders 🙄
Problem is, and has been, lack of vision and planning. Known for years that chips being made in one place were a time bomb waiting to explode. Finally, new plants being made, in Arizona. How much management experience does it take to realize that when you farm production out all over an unstable world, that you leave yourself open for problems?

Yup, the lies started in August with the zillion people who got build dates of September 5 and 12. My now probably won’t happen lie date of December 19 that was sent out is my TENTH build date. Likely won’t even be in Velocity Blue unless they do the right thing and use it for folks who ordered in 2021 and were already given VINs.
Velocity Blue is dead. Got my 22 in VB, can’t get it on a 23. Too bad.
