I liked everything about it. Loved the new dash, the new screen the Eruption Green... literally everything. The choice was to go from a finished Lariat to an XL and build it, which was always the plan. I love my '23 HPR so much I just didn't want to let go of it, I guess. If I had been serious I would have marketed my truck for sale, but I only "mentioned" it was for sale on a few forums and groups. Had several interested people but they all lived in snowy areas and wanted AWD.

No regrets though, I'm totally happy with my '23. Yes, I love building stuff and usually break even on my builds, even after enjoying them and putting miles on them, but I just wasn't in the mood I guess. That may partially be due to my new acquisition, a 1985 Nissan I bought from my son. Paint and body, full stereo, sliding rag, possible KA24DET swap coming soon, but it doesn't belong on this group.

Plus, I still have my slammed Suburban, my boats, my Crown school bus and my hot rods...

I may have issues.

Well folks, the day has come! My local dealership called and advised that my 2025 XL Hybrid AWD is on the lot!

I currently have three daily drivers ('23 Maverick, slammed '99 Suburban, slammed Nissan 720 ST), my wife has her daily, plus we have a number of hot rods so space is at a premium even with a two car garage, four car shop and large driveway.

I guess I wasn't ready to give up the '23 Lariat that this thread is about, because I never got serious about selling it. So the Eruption Green '25 stayed on the lot (with a list of people who want it) and I'll keep this thread updated as I make changes and pile on the miles to my '23 Hybrid Lariat!

Good choice imo.

Not much new to report, other than I'm over 47k miles now.

I did have some Ford points about to expire so I ordered a tailgate spoiler. I had hoped the texture would match the factory plastics.

Since it doesn't match now I'm considering pulling all of the plastics and painting them black. FML, I'm so OCD about stuff like this.

So my truck changed from a Lariat to an XL in an instant yesterday. Well, at least one wheel did.

Hit something on the highway at 80 MPH and scared the shit out of myself. I swear the right side of the truck jumped 6" or more.

I learned an important lesson yesterday too. My truck is too low to get the full size spare tire out without lifting it up, LOL.

Fortunately I hadn't removed the blown tire before trying to get the spare out.

Sidewall pinched and destroyed, minor wheel damage, new tire ordered and on the way.

Fortunately no other damage - that I could find.

A buddy called when I was almost done and said he'd just passed me (in an 18 wheeler) and couldn't stop, but would come back. (No help needed, but the call was appreciated.) He said there was another car 1/2 mile past me with a flat too.
