Between rain showers and thunderstorms, I had an opportunity to install Maxzina’s roof rack rails. They are an easy install requiring no drilling. The trick is to leave the two piece mounts as loose as possible when bolting them together. This allows for maximum play when bridging opposite mounts with the rails and then tightening everything afterward. I don’t expect to leave the rails in place. With the experience of the initial install, twenty minutes tops to install them again.
Maxzina provides a thin cushioning pad for where the bases contact the rooftop. I am concerned that where the mounts grab above the door also needs something to protect the paint. I appreciate that Maxzina incorporated slots on the tops and on one side of each rail. These should facilitate the development of customized cargo attachments. I hope Maxzina will consider introducing a cargo basket scaled to the Maverick to compliment their roof rack.
