Simple reliable bed cover?

I need to install a bed cover on my 2023 Maverick. What is a simple one to install that will be reliable.

Things you'll need to determine are

1. Your budget $-$$$$
2. Security Determines a hard or soft tonneau cover.
3. Appearance, Flush mounted or One that sits on top of the bed rails. They come in both rolling or folding.
4. How often do you require the full use of your bed (cab to tailgate) above the rails?
5. Retractable. You lose some bed space with this one.
6. A tonneau cover with 3 Folds may block your rear window when fully raised VS a cover that folds twice.
7. How important is easy removal?
If you have a two-fold and want to use the area towards the cab, above the bed rails. You'll have to remove the cover. In that case ease of removal would be important.

For my 2025, I went with the Ford soft folding cover VNZ6Z99501A42H. It's ok, but I don't like the visual in the rear view mirror of the poofing while traveling at any speed over 40mph. I should have went with the hard folding cover VNZ6Z99501A42F but it's more than twice the price of the soft, which is why I didn't.

I got this one for my Maverick last year from Amazon. Very solid and durable. It's a little over $300. Got 4.6 out of 5 stars...

The cheaper ones don't fold up against the rear window cutting down usable bed space for anything taller than the bed itself. I would avoid those cheap ones. Like the one mentioned above does not fold up all the way cutting usable bed space by a lot. But they cost less. At least when I searched for that one above on amazon it showed it didn't in pictures. . .

Thanks for the replies. I will take them all into consideration as I search. My main reason for asking is that we will need to put luggage in the bed for a short trip. Not sure if I will keep the on the bed after that.

If it is for temporary use. You can find soft tonneau covers for around $120.

Now you just have to decide whether or not you want a one-time use cover or spend the extra money for a better cover and keep it on.
