SIBL Recommendation?

So.... I know there's different types now, much different than when I picked up my new '98 ranger....

Recommended type? Recommendation for shops?

The two most-known brands are Line-X and Rhino. Personally, I would rather have an aftermarket SIBL than a factory one. Had issues with a factory SIBL from Nissan. Do some research to see if one suits your needs better than the other.

Yea the Ford one is sprayed straight onto the clearcoat. Probably decent enough, but I seen people peel it off in big pieces without too much effort. I guess nice if you decide to remove it for whatever reason.

Aftermarket seem to sand and rough up the bed for better hold.

I’m going to try Bullet. I’ve never had a spray in liner but they seem to get good reviews.
All of the companies quality seems dependent on the installer.

Surface prep is the key. Ford is trying to install 1000's of SIBL's, shortcuts will be taken while an independent shop will take their time to do it right the first time.

Probably going to roll Monstaliner here. They're kinda special in that you can sorta color match it if you want.

I prefer Line-x over rhino. Had plenty of work provided trucks over the years and they seem to be easier to wash out and holds up well.

When I ordered my maverick in January of 2022 the factory SIBL had been substituted with the hard drop in but now that I had to re-order for a 23 I didn't pay for the addition of either which is not included with the lux pkg anymore.

I've narrowed it down to Line-X for me.

I'm in Delaware (home of tax free shopping), so obviously I want to stay with a DE shop to avoid paying tax on my SIBL. I also want to color match to the XLT orange trim. My local Rhino shop will do any color I want as long as it's black, so they are out. Bullet has a reputation of being lower cost than Line-X, but on the two quotes that I got they are pretty competitive with each other. The Bullet shop is down-state (about an hour away from me) and the Line-X is about 15 minutes from me. So, I guess it's Line-X for me. If I had my Mav now and took it to Line-X, it would be $520 plus $289 for the color coat. Total $809 and no tax. But I'm a '23 Mav order, so I'll budget a cool $1k and hope the prices don't get higher than that by the time I get my Mav.

Your mileage may vary so I would suggest getting a quote from the closest SIBL shops to you.
