Should I get excited? Secondary status in production

Hi All,

I ordered a Maverick back in August, never got a confirmation email. Went through a few rounds with the dealer using the info I had from this forum as to why I never got the confirmation email. The dealer ended up giving me a new order code ( I dont think they ordered my truck in the first place ) and I could use this order code to check status through Ford chat.

Everytime so far its been "Order processing". Today they told me it was "In production".

I opened another chat a little later with Ford realizing I should ask for the VIN. THey wouldnt provide me a VIN, but offered to check the orders status. I said sure why not. This time they told me it was "In processing". I pushed back a bit saying I was just talking to someone who said it was in production.

They told me its in "Order processing" with a secondary status or "In production".

Does this mean my order is currently in production? I've emailed me dealer for info but they have been absolutely horrendous through this entire process so I dont have much confidence in getting any info from them.

I had to look at your location because I thought you were working with Gary Yeomans in Daytona Beach when I started reading your story! I hate to say it but if you did not give them a deposit and did not get a confirmation email I would suggest you not get too excited. There are a number of dealers doing some less than ethical transactions! I do wish you luck and hope that I am entirely incorrect with my thoughts🤞🏻

Frustratingly I DID give them a deposit. 500 dollars. Which has been one of my key arguments that I expect a higher level of communication and customer service. I could go on and on with the whole tale of this experience.

At one point had the dealer manager telling me "I dont put peoples emails on orders because more information just means more questions". If I could check the tracker myself I would never reach out to the dealer! Bad dealership, absolutely most atrocious customer service I've ever received. I've complained to Ford corporate multiple times about it

First, yes, it is being produced (but caution, shortages are causing longer production times).

Next, the dealer saying too much information means more question is not good, just stating fact.

Ford's ROVP (retail order program) requires the name, address, email, and phone number from the dealer as this will create a "firm" customer order and NOT a dealer inventory order. This was changed during summer 2021.

I would go to the dealer website to see who the GM, General Sales Mgr, and Sales Team are. Then construct an email with all the facts and request the VIN.

Update on this, I found out more.

It was never my order, Ford chat informed me my car was 1 of 6 vehicles on the order. Mine was not the one in production.

SO they have been lying to me the entire time. They held me order for 2 months after taking my deposit before submitting it, THEN submitted it as dealer inventory.

Now I'm fighting with them about getting my deposit back.

I dont know what to do at this point, Even if I can get the truck I will not do business with these people. I want to complain to Ford but want to get higher up on the food chain than just Ford chat. I have records of emails and absolute lies they told me.
