Has anyone received a check engine light for saying engine control system has detected the electronic throttle body maybe stuck closed or binding as the throttle sensor indicated it was open further than commanded? I have a 2022 Lariat 2.0 EB with 21,000 miles on it. The temps did get really cold this week wondering if this may have been the issue.

Cold temps in modern vehicles esp non BEV / Electric should have virtually zero impact on cars as far as error / check engine lights.

A binding throttle bosy would just mean poor design / quality control.

I've had this happen on other cars. The throttle body would stick in really cold weather. I had to manually knock it open. It was an "old school" cable actuated TB, so you could feel it was stuck when you went to press the gas. I figure a newer one is just as capable of sticking in cold weather(even if it is electronically controlled). I'd get to the dealer, just to be safe and have the problem on record should it happen again.

Hello! Could you privately message us with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer so I can look into this throttle concern? Thank you!

Hello
My maverick recently started acting strange after having two recall issues fixed and i think they may have also done a computer update. First light i got was for pre Collison assist failure- this went off and would come back on again multiple time, the second time i got a check engine light becasue of a stuck throttle body and also a powertrain malfunction warning- I got it into my local dealer and they are chrging me 1200 for a new throttle body and saying they dont see any pre collsion assist codes. I feel like im being ripped off. My truck has 68k miles so no warranty. What can i do when only the dealership can fix these posssible computer issues? They can charge whatever they want and what choice do i have but to pay. I still have five years to pay off this truck and now i dont feel good about the purchase. And there was nothing wrong at all when i took it in for the recall work

I'm having the same issue today and of course I'm just out of warranty. I'm curious if you could post what the resolution was. The dealer is recommending a new throttle body and it's crazy expensive. I'm currently looking for an aftermarket. unit. It does seem to be aftermarket support for the 2 L EcoBoost motor. In the Reddit forum, some people are talking about just cleaning the throttlebody.

Have you reset the warning light and it came back? Might want to try that and see.

Useful video here:

The member's last post was the day of this thread. I doubt you will get a response.
