All the TOP car companies provide a personal life coach and email buddy with every ordered vehicle. I know for a fact that Hyundai is now scheduling in-home Q&A sessions for all Santa Cruz order holders. Toyota is now prescribing anti-anxiety meds for their more JUMPY order holders.

ALL I GOT WAS THIS STUPID TRUCK.

My gripe is how orders placed in August and later are getting build dates ahead of people who ordered in June and July! How is that in anyway shape or form fair?! Launching a new product in the middle of a pandemic with knowledge of supply chain issues might not have been a smart idea, but the lack of communication between Ford and it's customers is really disrespectful.
I agree there. Their allocation system seems to be geared toward rewarding high-volume stealerships while putting the rest on the backburner. I also believe they're filling a higher percentage of orders in so-called "emissions friendly" states like Texas, California, Colorado and Florida in order to meet their EPA standards in those areas. It would be interesting to see what the ratio of placed orders to sold units are by dealership and state.

Would getting an email telling you your power window control module wont be available for 3 months really make you feel better? Or even really let you know more? Your vehicle is almost certainly being delayed due to parts shortages outside of Ford's control, what more meaningful information could you get?
I was wondering the same thing lol ford doesn’t make their own parts guys lol no manufacturers do. If you really wanna be mad at a company for some reason blame magna or an actual manufacturer like that 🤷‍♂️ anywho. I get the frustration. I really do. I just think it could be directed better at times

This gripe is totally fair. I happen to have benefited from it. But this is absolutely a ford thing you can be mad about lol

California, Florida and Texas are the top 3 states with the most orders.

Supply issues and parts shortages, for various reasons, are pretty easy to understand & explain.

The biggest problem, IMO, is Ford's broken & outdated allocation system. It worked well enough when dealers ordered tons of stock units. Those days are likely gone for good. Ford itself has been pushing the customer order process, yet tries to manage it with the old dealer stock allocation system.

With a system so obviously out of step with the current business model, I have to believe there are people working at Ford smart enough to understand this is a serious problem, and needs fixed ASAP. It's a big corporation with lots of baked in bureaucracy, so I don't imagine it will happen any time soon, unfortunately.

The question remains, how badly will their reputation get hit until the fix is in place? As a shareholder, this is concerning. As a customer with an open Maverick order, it is annoying as hell.

If anyone from Ford is watching these forums, complacency is not your friend right now.

It's the lack of communication that gets me. In my field communication is everything. You can screw stuff up six ways to sunday as long as you communicate.
Truly what can they communicate?

I think it's gonna hit them hard. I've owned nothing but Fords my entire life, but my Bronco experience for which I probably have another 18 months to wait (which I won't) has really, really, really, pissed me off, and it's all because of that damn allocation formula.

I mean yeah thats exactly the information i want.
Why? Not gonna speed things up at all. By the time it arrives, something else will then be needed. The best thing to do is quit reading these forums everyday and getting wound up. I remember ordering an escort back in the 80's and hell you didn't know anything at all until it arrived, absolutely nothing. No forums to drive you crazy, no tracking trains and transport trucks, NOTHING but patience.

Yes, but what percentage of those orders have been filled compared to other states? And how many of those orders were actually placed in those states? A large amount of those orders came from high-volume dealerships in Iowa and Kansas, etc...

YEAH.

It's the "allocation formula"!

Has nothing to do with simple mathematics.
As in- there are 3 times as many ready/willing/able BRONCO buyers RIGHT NOW as Ford can produce RIGHT NOW.

As a result, thousands of Karens are DEMANDING TO SPEAK TO Ford's manager RIGHT NOW.

I don't think there's much that Ford can do if they don't have the parts to finish the vehicle. Too many people take it personally that their build isn't finished or even scheduled yet. Ford isn't out to slight anyone and I'm sure they would like to get them all on the road, but today's economic (pandemic) climate won't let that happen. I work for a Volvo dealer (parts dept.) and this time of year I usually see about 20-30 parts on my backorder list that sit there for about 2-3 weeks. Right now I have about 350 parts that have been waiting for months. Besides parts shortages there are a lot of parts waiting at various ports waiting to be unloaded causing more backlogs. All we can do is wait and be patient.

As for the communication front, I can agree that Ford needs some serious improvement.
best reporting so far,,,,people NEED to be aware of the shortages,,,,,and WHY the shortages AND put the blame in the right place!👍👍👍👍👍
