Decades ago I discovered that my poorly upholstered butt caused my leg to go numb if I kept my wallet in my rear hip pocket. I have carried it in my shirt pocket since and problem gone. Worth trying if the XL seats cause pain. Simpler than buying scrapyard seats. Which seem might be the answer, otherwise.
When I was stationed overseas, we were taught to carry our wallets in our front pants pocket. Not only did it make long trips more comfortable (I was in the motor pool in a combat support squadron) it also deterred pick pockets and there was less of a chance of it falling out. They make wallets now that are for front pocket carry. I haven't had a wallet in my back pocket in over 30 years.

My Lariat seats are comfortable but I mostly do short drives- and I have arthritis and knee and shoulder issues. When I picked it up I adjusted the steering wheel and moved the seat back a little and that has been it. If I take a long trip might have to do more adjusting. People love the look of the interior with the black package.
Drove 740 miles last week in one day in a Lariat. Seats were comfy considering the amount of time in them. Sorry for your experience in the XL. Maybe try driving a Maverick with higher trim to see if it suits you better.

Last ford I had was a 2003 F-150 and it was comfortable.
My last Ford before the Lariat was an F-150 too from 1998; the driver seat had been comfortable and did have lumbar support. It was still comfortable when I sold it in past February. My Lariat's seat is just eh, not really comfortable and the lumbar support is minimal. You'd think that with the luxury package they'd put one in, but no.
BTW... I paid more than the twice as much for the Lariat as did for the F-150. Yes, technology changed, inflation, etc., although it is a lot smaller, but is the lumbar support really that expensive to add to the build?

My 22 Lariat has power Lumbar seat on driver side. Did it get axed on 23 Model?

No, it did not, I meant to say that the lumbar support is minimal. At least it isn't enough for me @6'4". Post is corrected, thx...

Wife had a 97 XL with bench seat, I had a 98 Lariat with leather buckets. Both killed my lower back after 1-1/2hrs and nothing helped. Then bought a 2000 Ranger XLT FX4 I could and did drive all day without pain. Go figure, one size/flavor does not fit all. Those 2 F150s were the only car/trucks like that.

Hello,

I have a Ford Maverick Ecoboost XL and have never had a problem with any seats in any vehicle... however, the ford maverick seats have been super painful for me and can't understand why. I sit with my legs out pretty wide and I believe it is due to the side bolstering on the seats being buldged out and really hard foam. I have tried 6 different seat cushions and none help. It is really impeding on the experience of my Ford maverick. Has anyone else had this problem? and know a fix? Please don't comment if you are just going to say it is comfortable for you as that doesn't help my issue. Thank you

are you obese? if so, that might be the root cause of the problem. I find my seats very comfortable and i am of normal height and weight.

FWIW, I'm "large" and I have found the Lariat seats to be VERY comfortable, once I got them adjusted properly. At first, the side bolsters bothered me. Then I raised the seat (actually - only the back of the seat raises on the power seats in the Lariat), which meant I had to angle the seat-back further to the rear (otherwise I was folded up like a pretzel). Now the seats are GREAT. I've driven three 500+ mile trips, and spent one entire day in and out of the car (mostly in) driving all over town running some errands with my wife and daughter, and had zero issues.

So if there's any way to raise the back of the seat, so your legs are "folded" a bit less, it might help your situation. Sorry, but I'm unfamiliar with the XL and XLT seats (other than looking at the brochure) so I can't tell if those seats also are hinged at the front, or if they actually raise/lower the entire seat. (Manual doesn't reflect this "hinge" behavior for either power seats or manual seats, but it's the way the power seats work, for sure..)

Something you might want to look at are the Mabett seat covers sold on Amazon. They are made for the maverick. They are black and it looks like leather. I love mine. 1. they really make the truck
Look really nice and 2. they are slightly padded. The padding might help you out. Take a look and good luck...
