Went to Borrego Days and tested out the Wildpeaks on a few dirt roads on the way back.

Nice! And hello from Encinitas. It is still too hot in Borrego for me. Great place to drive the unpaved roads and watch the ATV's run up and down hillsides like Big Horn sheep Speaking of which, did you hike the canyon and see any?

No hiking but drove a long route. East on I-8 to Ocotillo, North on S2 for 50 miles of empty and surprisingly green desert, right at scissors crossing (east 78) and left at Tamarisk Grove (North S3) to pop over the hill into Borrego. On the way out we took Montezuma Grade and hit the trail at Culp Valley. From there it was Jasper Truck trail to Grapevine back to 78. To 78 west up Banner Grade to Julian and returned down to SD through Ramona. I have seen sheep when hiking but encounter them more often while driving though the De Anza Golf course. No ATVs on this route but I did see one Jeep on Jasper TT.
