As a cheaper option I went with the Rough Country Bed mat. It was $109 plus tax shipped free. Was cheaper than what I could find the Ford mat. Does not have the fancy Maverick writing across the middle. Looks just as good. It's cold and not laying flat yet where it was rolled up during shipping.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this. I’ve been looking for a reasonably price mat and this looks to be it.

Why are you replacing the horse mat? I have one ready to cut so I’m curious.
I don't want to take it out of my current MY22 Maverick to put in my MY23 when it gets here because it is too heavy. It is a two-man job, plus I'm 68 years old now and will probably be well into my 70s by then .:)

From what I can tell that is a thin bed tray kinda like the weathertech floor liners. Not a heavy duty rubber mat.
Yes, that is all I need back there. Just something to protect the bed from scratches and such. I got the horse mat to protect my knees because I thought I would be crawling around in the bed, but I haven't needed to since I can reach everything in the bed from the sides.

the reviews talk about anchoring it down as it will fly off; something to be aware of..

I have a tonneau cover, so that shouldn't be a problem.

I have a Rough Country mat in my ‘19 Ranger and very happy with it. I had purchased it for my last 5g Ranger SuperCab and planned to sell it and get one for my current SuperCrew but was able to cut it shorter at the cab end and fits perfectly.

I thought about a bed mat at first but decided to get a bed rug from RealTruck because 1) it also covered the tailgate and 2) it is a continuous piece that doesn't let "stuff" fall between the tailgate and bed.

I considered the bed rug and liked it's features. But hauling dead deer, leaky trash, bags of lime and fertilizer I needed something that would easily wash out good.
