Lots of ice, snow, rocks, and mud. Truck did great until the snow got upwards of a foot deep. Was worried about punctures with the Pirelli Scorpion ATR's but they held up just fine. Definately needs more ground clearance and more tire. Excited to do some more serious off-roading in the future.

That’s why I went with the Falken Wildpeak AT trails 245’s
More grip and clearance. I’m ready for winter.

The trail AT’s were designed for unibody vehicles and a bit better on dry ā€œhard roadsā€ that’s why I went with them. Plenty of bite on them. I am ready for the wonderful winter weather of the mid Atlantic. No worries about snow, slush, and/or sleet. These tires are aggressive yet run smooth.

Which side of Rollins Pass??
I'm about an hour from Moffat Tunnel/East side Rollins.
Gonna have to make a trip up next year I think!
Has been about 5 years since I was last there.
Hope the Maverick can handle the holes the east side of Rollins can throw at it!
Darn near beat to a pulp in the Ranger!

Congrats on going with the best color for the Maverick.

How big of a sidewall do you think you will go with on the 245s? 65 or 70?

70’s are the way to go!

From a look perspective, I agree. I'm just not sure if I'm comfortable with how much space there is between the felt wheel liners and the tires themselves. Thoughts?

I'll probably go Toyos too.

It’s certainly a close fit. No rubbing, even at full lock and with some compression but it’s very close. I’ve got a small lift I’m putting on this week, hopefully, so we’ll see if that frees up a bit of room.

I live in the south where I’m still wearing shorts and sandals. If I actually lived around these types of conditions, I’m not certain I’d do 70’s for fear of clearance issues and picking up ice and snow and hitting the inner fenders.

I'm in exactly the opposite position...I'm up in Washington, and I don't want to rub the felt every time I pick up a pine cone! šŸ˜‰

I plan to use the Mav on forest service roads and need it to be functional, and I don't want to risk 70s if others think it could be close. Tires aren't cheap!

The issues of clearance really don’t come into play much until you’re basically at full lock. I’ll send you some pictures tomorrow.
