Reverse Challenges

I'm 6 months into my Maverick and loving it. That being said, I have now backed into my 2nd car in a parking spot when it is dark outside. My Maverick, though it's a 2023 Lariat, doesn't have a proximity sound alert and the picture on the screen is so dark and the view out my window is so dark (If I try to back up the way I learned 30 years ago).

Wondering if there is a setting I'm missing (I've searched the car settings and searched the internet) to have it beep when I get close. If not, anyone got any ideas because after going over 20 years without a ticket or a collision, I've now broken a taillight and dented another car's bumper in two separate collisions.

No settings that I am aware of, but I replaced the backup lights with very bright LED's and it made a huge difference.

yeah, looking into that. Do you remember which ones you ordered? I'm seeing LASFIT is recommended, then other people saying they don't last long at all.

Sounds like your Lariat is not equipped with Co-Pilot 360 Assist (the rear back up sensor system). This also includes Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Centering. If you have all those features, I don't believe there's an ability to turn off the back-up warnings. Many people who ordered a 2023 Lariat with the Lux Package were disappointed they did not get these features. In an effort to save computer chips during the shortage, Ford broke them out and they had to be specifically ordered. Starting with the 2024s, the Lariat has all those features standard plus some.

Isn't there a setting in the menu choices about the sensitivity of the corner sensors?

And isn't there one for the alarm? Back up assist or something?

...If you have all those features, I don't believe there's an ability to turn off the back-up warnings.

When you put the truck in reverse you have the option to turn off rear park assist which comes in handy when you're backing up with the tailgate down and you're getting a constant alarm sound.
