Apparently I am a dumbass because I cannot set the menu like I want or according to the manual. XLT and I want to be able to track my milage on a continuous(ongoing) basis and each fill up. The only option I can find is either trip 1 or trip 2, WTF does that mean. Apparently its each time I start it and go somewhere, they need a Maverick for Dummies manual because 500+ pages is a little much. Just got the hybrid yesterday and its fantastic but I could use some help on setting the menu to find the two ways I want to track miles per gallon. Each tank, forever and an occasional trip. I am69 so I’ll throw that excuse out there.

You have two mileage counters, Trip 1 and Trip 2. They are independent. Let one run forever to track longterm mpg and reset the other one at every fill-up.

If you really want to track mileage though, use fuelly. The mpg estimates the Maverick (And most vehicles, really) generates are garbage.

Fuelly - Track and Compare your MPG

What info are you giving up to Fuelly in order for it to be free? Is it an app that monitors your movements?

So if the screen is on trip 2 and I use it between each fill up just reset trip 2 and trip 1 will run in the background and I don’t need to do anything?

Hell I’m 35 and this whole Trip 1 and Trip 2 was confusing to me too. Always wondered why the hell do I need 2? Makes sense.

The app maybe. I use the website. All I've told it is the vehicle I'm driving, when I gas up, how much I gas up, the 'brand' I gas up with, price, and how I paid ("Credit," not actual numbers). All that information is optional. You can just drop numbers in if you like.

Yes. You can always switch to trip 1 to see lifetime fuel economy. If you forget to reset trip 2 you can always reset it whenever you want to. Both “trips” run concurrently with each other.

I usually use one for oil changes. I don’t trust the computer to tell me when it’s the time to do it. The other is for my current tank or I’ll use it for a vacation. Half the time I forget all about it with my Prius.

Thanks everyone, I feel less dumb at least for that part of the gauges now on to all the other stuff on the hybrid screen. Must say so far I am extremely impressed with the hybrid, ride, quality, quiet, power and even the ancient radio because of Apple Carplay.

Fwiw- I tracked mpg this way in my focus. Trip 2 was continuous from day one. It reset itself every 10,000 miles.
