Reservation date vs Order date

I just had a very informative conversation with my dealer and he gave me what may be the best explanation of why some people are getting build date ahead of others with an earlier order date even though they ordered the exact same vehicle. It seems that Ford is putting priority on your reservation date when pulling through orders to be scheduled. I know in my case, my reservation date (7/14) is a full month earlier than my order date (8/16). So I'm curious about the people getting build dates that have only recently ordered, as to what their reservation dates were. Maybe we should be tracking that on the order tracker as well considering this information. BTW, I would highly recommend my dealer (D&D Ford in Greer, SC) to anyone living in northern GA, western NC and the Upstate of SC, or anyone else than doesn't mind traveling a greater distance.

I welcome any feedback on this from those of you that are still waiting for build dates.

My reservation & order were placed on same day (7/21). Have no build date yet. My dealer has 12 Maverick orders last time I checked. They’ve delivered 3 or 4 Eco Boost but no hybrids. They’re a relatively small dealership and say they don’t get many allocations. I’m not desperate for the truck but would at least like to know when I could expect it. Kind of feel punished for doing business with our local, smaller volume dealer.

I hope they aren’t punishing small, rural dealers in the future with the Lightning and other new vehicles, especially if this strange ordering system is going to be permanent instead of just finding a vehicle on the lot and buying.
