Replacement for skid plate retainer clips

If there were a prize for “Stupidest Engineered Part on an Otherwise Well Designed Vehicle”, Ford’s skid plate retainer clips would win. Hands down. Worst engineering ever.

They can be ordered and replaced. That doesn’t fix the problem. They need to be REPLACED with another product.

Hi Steve,
I want to make sure that we're on the same page. Not knowing what model Maverick you have. Some Maverick's come with a metal skid plate.
Are you referring to the large fiberboard Splash Shield that's under the Maverick?

Or are you referring to a metal skid plate like the one pictured below?

But A nut cert setter and use different bolts. I changed mine on my 2024 Lariat FX4 Steel Skid Plate to 1/4-20 bolts instead of the cheesy coarse threaded crap from ford. I have not looked back
