Relays??

I have had my Maverick about a month. It makes a series of clicks after the vehicle is shut off and when the doors are open or closed. Sounds like mechanical relays opening or closing. I have the XLT hybrid and am new to the hybrid world. Is this normal and what exactly is happening?

That’s normal everything shutting down after turning off car our escape does this too and it’s not hybrid

I do not have a hybrid Maverick but my wife's Prius makes all kinds of strange noises after turning it off.

I just turned off the ignition in my EcoBoost Maverick. Sat in the driver's seat a few minutes responding to work emails. Relay clicks going crazy. Tick, click, click, click tick, tick.

I ran inside, signed into my computer. Came across this thread and typed this response. Funny how it just happened. All normal. Been doing that for 5,000 miles. Glad it's a soft sound. Easy to tune out.

Sure its relays, and not just metal shrinking as it cools? Opening and closing doors are probably relays.

Mine does it too. Even after 45 mins of the doors being locked and the car parked, it still makes relay clicks but goes away completely after the 2 hour mark.

I don't have my Maverick yet but have driven a Prius for the last six years. It makes all kinds of strange noises, not only upon stopping the engine, but just when approaching it with the key on me, opening the driver door, depressing the brake pedal before starting, etc. All the hybrids I've been around have made some strange, but perfectly normal, sounds.
