Well it turns out that according to the dealer the red triangle with an exclamation point is an indicator that the inverter module is intermittently faulty…wow talk about a roundabout way to let you know about that. It will be covered under warranty

My owners manual has 6 pages of little icons with their meaning. The triangle with the exclamation point (Safety Issue) is one of them.

Trouble codes that are picked up by a code reader and don’t show on the dash are 100’s more probably.

“Inverter module is intermittently faulty” does not get its own dash warning symbol - but falls under the “catch all” triangle with exclamation point. Probably identified by the dealer’s code reader.

It would be handy to know which trouble codes get bunched under the “triangle” icon. Also would be neat to know which of the hundred odd codes will trigger the “check engine” light:)

Edit - it would be really neat if the trouble code(s) were shown somewhere on the dash. But the lobbyists for the Code Reader Manufacturers Group would fight that idea along with many dealers!

Maybe the graphic folks were having problems coming up with an icon to represent “inverter module is intermittently faulty” and said “screw it - draw a triangle & exclamation point, call it a “safety issue”, and let’s all go home!” ?

Maybe a new icon could be added to reduce confusion...
How about an inverter with an imbedded hatchet..
I'll bet that one isn't already on the list...
Description: Your inverter has been axed.

I think you can get the DTC's to show on the dash if you know the trick. Been a few years since I did it.

You still will need look up what PC9027 means.

Maybe Active DTC's will show up here - but not stored or pending - which I have but nothing showed.
Or it really doesn't work at all.

Engineering Test screen.
Hold OK button on steering wheel - turn key to On (or Push Button start no brake pedal).
Keep holding OK button until the pop ups are done and a green ET shows near top of dashboard.
Let go of OK button. (this works fine on 24XLT)
Use steering wheel up/down as normal, Menu is right, Back is left or back.

In the main menu - this:

Made a video getting to this - but too long and I know it would fail to upload.
So here's the resulting picture.
The fact it says History makes me wonder if indeed used. But then again my codes were never MIL's - so maybe that's the difference.
But if History of any DTC - I had 2 that should have shown there.
