I bought the x4s and an elevate rack through RealTruck and contacted Alex with RealTruck through this website and he gave me a great discount for both items since I was a Maverick Truck Club member. Email him directly and ask him if he can give you a discount. I'm sure he will. I love my x4s.

I emailed him, but haven't heard anything back. I called realtruck and was told the base price is now $1,000

Well, that probably is about right. I see on their website it is listed for $1,169.00. I got mine for $890 + tax, free shipping in the middle of January. I think they went up right after I bought mine. The first time I emailed him I didn't get any response for several days so I sent him another email and he responded back right away and told me he never got my first email. If you don't hear from him try again in a couple days in case he didn't see it or didn't get it like me. Shipping is fast too. I had mine in about 2 or 3 days.

It was actually something like $960 base price. With taxes, it ended up at something like $1,060. I'll try again soon. I'm going to get the spray in bedliner and then I'll get the tonneau cover after that. Or maybe I'll get the REV tonneau cover from ford accessories with my points

I initially wanted a hard roll-up, but after reading of multiple instances of the vinyl eventually cracking/coming unglued I went with a hard tri fold.

That's a pretty old post (2018). I'd hope they have fixed this issue in the past 5 years. Also, it said it was covered by warranty so not too much to worry about, unless it fails right after the 5 year warranty is up.

I’m not crazy about not being able to use a bed extender with this cover. I had it on my radar, but am thinking of a Truxedo instead.
I was upset I could not also use a bed extender. If I knew this when I ordered it for almost $1300.00 at Ford, I would have cancelled it. Plus the cover leaks a lot when it rains. I had to buy rubber bins and put everything inside of them To stay dry.

I like mine. The main draws for me were the sleek design, secure storage, and decent visibility when rolled up.

The reason I got this over the Truxedo Sentry CT is that the tailgate can be closed with the cover already secured. If you just want to open the tailgate and throw something back there, you don't need to open or re-secure the tonneau.

That said, mine does leak pretty bad. I think it could be corrected with some additional weather stripping and some adjustment, but haven't had the time for that yet.

Why did you return the Truxedo?
At first I couldn’t get the cover to latch with the tailgate closed. After a spending a bunch of time shimming, I got that to work.
Then it was flapping at 45mph. I tried to tighten it, but I had the not closing problem again. That was the final straw.
I was not a fan of having to unlatch the cover to close the tailgate, but plan to live with it because of the price difference to the X4S.
Same for having to pull the sides tight and running my hand over the Velcro to secure it.

I saw the tabs near the tailgate on the x4s. Do these prevent you from hauling 4x8 sheet material?
