Just picked up our new Maverick with the electric rear sliding window. It looked like it had something similar to scratches running from side to side on the glass. We tried to clean it and it was better, but still had traces of the marks. I'm wondering if the glass had a clear film on it that the dealership tried to remove and some sticky material was left behind. Or something else?

Anyone know what's going on with our widow?

Also, the weather stripping on the left side was kind of wrinkled at the upper and lower left hand corners of the window. We were wondering if that was normal?

Mine had 2 lines….guessing 6-8” long and maybe 6” apart running horizontal on the rear passenger side glass. It was some label they removed. Any good glass cleaner should work. If not try rubbing alcohol.
Can’t help with weather stripping

Lots of folks on here would say if the marks dont clean away, take it to the dealer asap. If its their fault its their window replacement. I would probably live with it myself. Hard to say.

I do not have the electric rear window, but this sounds like the same issue I have with my manual window. Just picked mine up last night and visibility was not great. It’s really only noticeable when driving at night and a car with lights on is behind me. It looks like it’s really really dirty. Like a sticker was peeled off. I went out and cleaned it tonight but it doesn’t seem much better. I also cannot really see if it’s better without being in traffic. I’ll keep trying to clean it and would be interested if you find a solution. Otherwise I’m contacting my dealer.

edit: I had my wife go outside with me and she confirmed that the streaks appear to be on the outside. Not glue/sticky residue like a peeled off sticker would leave behind, so we are guessing its grease or similar residue. When she took her fingernail to it some of the marks came off. I still plan to speak to the dealership because I don’t want to scratch the glass trying to scrape it clean and then they say it was my fault and not cover it.

That's very similar to what mine looked like. I hope to work on it more tomorrow. It's been really cold here and I've not felt like working on it. I'll let you know if I get mine to the point of not having any streaks. I really appreciate your post as I was feeling like people thought I was crazy. Good luck with yours.

Good morning! If you are able to send over a private message with your VIN and dealership information, I can look into this for you.

That's what I was talking about. Here's my photo from today. After the photo was taken my wife cleaned the outside of the window with Goo Gone and the window was then in top shape. So that's one solution.

I also had a film from a sticker or a manufacturing process on the back window, but it was removed when my tint guy tinted all the glass and now it looks perfect. He said there was an adhesive that took some extra work to get off
I feel it’s mandatory to dark tint the back window and backside windows just to keep stuff. safe in the cabin. Plus, I’m in Arizona so…..
