Rear Sliding Window Leakage

Replacement window looks better but still leaks. See PowerPoint and movies. Problem is the molding seam at the bottom sealing area allows water to get by. The fix is light sanding and use dielectric (electrical) grease. Movie 2 is after window was replaced. Movie3 is after my fix to stop leak.

Thank you for the detailed follow up- I hate to hear that yours still leaked despite an all new window installation. I won’t bother with a trip to the dealer with this new info. I have some shin Etsu grease that I will put on mine to see if that does the trick; thing is I use my rear slider just about daily if the weather is nice.

Hey George, how’s your window leak doing this winter? I just discovered my 2022 is leaking… I assume it’s done it since new but I guess I’ve never had the back seat forward when it was raining before. Looks to be the same leak and I’m debating making an appointment or not…

That sucks guys, had the same style power slider in my 2016 F-150, never had any leaks. I was going to add the power slider to my Maverick, but hearing this is a issue I think I'll pass.

After finding the leak today I found a bunch of threads about it too… I hope it’s fixable as I’m keeping my Mav long term. I’m a little surprise d I didn’t find it till now ~29mo in, PNW, lots of rain…however I never flip the back seat forward in the rain because my dogs crate is on the back seat and today is the first time I put it in while it was raining and the car had been in the driveway vs garage.

I didn’t -want- the power slider, but it turns out I use it pretty often to haul stuff. Granted I could just use the bed for most of it, but not all. 10’ sticks of PEX are much better out the window vs hanging 6’ out the bed.
