So that maniac coming at you with a ball bat is going to wait for you to unbuckle, get out, go to back door, raise seat, unlock vault, remove bang bang.
My "vault" is the door pocket on the driver's side and my pants pocket.

I see where you are coming from as any self-protection tool is not easy to get to when locked up for safety. My self-protection tool is usually on my person or right beside me. I plan to lock up my self-protection tool in the secured safe when I am unable to carry it with me like a school function. Just leaving it in a locked vehicle is not safe when people are breaking in to steal your sunglasses, shopping bags, etc.

The purpose for the vault is for much more than just Pew pews. It could be for cash your wallet when you go swimming or your key if you want to leave it in the vehicle. Additionally here in Texas there's a lot of businesses that forbid legally carry of a concealed weapon so you have to have it someplace. Police in any state will tell you that most guns are obtained illegally by breaking into vehicles and finding them.

Aloha just installed my under the rear seat vault safe and couldn't have been any easier 4 bolts and done With my salesman's 23% discount was $350, As you can see by the pictures there is plenty of room In the safe as it uses the whole compartment under the rear seat

I just had my vault installed by my local Ford Dealership. There was a red label on the outside saying what the factory code was. When I got home and looked inside, there were no instructions inside the compartment about the manufacturer, warranty info, or how to change the pass code. I contacted Ford online store and they gave me a phone number of the manufacturer to contact. I sent a text to my dealership looking for the missing papers. Do you have information that can help me in the meantime?

Looks deceptively shallow. Can you post a pic with some items in it (not personal), like the Owners Manual (or equivalent)? Is this for an EB or Hybrid model? or does it fit both?

Give some perspective because the straight-down photo doesn't show depth. Thanks in advance.
The vault is just walls and a top that surround the open area. So, the bottom is still the same plastic as the compartment area, the walls with the top is bolted in to the said.

Can anyone that has this installed give me instructions of how to set up my own passcode. My local Ford Dealer installed it and I have no paperwork. I asked for it, but still do not have it. The Ford online customer service gave me the manufacturer phone number which I haven't attempted yet. Your advice will be appreciated.

Mine came with a default PW of "0000". When the PW is entered, and the knob is in an unlocked or open position, then simply change the dials to the number you want to use.
Close it, lock it, that's your new PW.

They're called sidearms for a reason. They aren't much use when they ain't on you.

Funny thing. You can't take a sidearm into a lot of public places including my son's school and you really shouldn't leave it in a locked vehicle either to be broken into and stolen. How about locking it in a hidden safe, in a locked vehicle!
