Hello,
I am new here and wanted to share the rear seat sleeping arrangement I recently built and used for a solo 6000 mi RT drive across the country. I began by removing the rear seat bottom cushion, folded the back cushion down flat and made plywood supports underneath the headrest rods down to the floor so it was level. I cut a piece of 1/2" ply to fit the slightly L-shaped area with the passenger seat in the fully upright position and attaching it with the two machine screws that held the 2) rubber bumpers on the seat back. I cut a 4" foam cushion to fit and with the passenger seat tilted fully forward it allows a person 5' 7" (just barely) enough length to fit in there diagonally with my feet on the passenger arm rest. When driving I tilted the passenger back to the first upright position where it does not impede visibility. By pulling the plywood supports out the bed platform will fold down and the passenger seat can be slid back to accommodate a passenger. I bought elastic window screen bug covers for that fit over the doors and clamped a rechargeable fan to the rear grab handle.
I made a 2x4 divider frame to go in the bed under the tonneau cover so I could keep a cooler, water jug, 2) kitchen totes and butane cooker just inside the tailgate along with a small folding table and lawn chair.
It's not a luxury suite but it worked well and it made me smile all across the country and back again with everything I needed and nothing I didn't.
