I wonder what percentage of the 1970's Maverick is original vs restored. By the 1980's most Mavericks in my area were primarily rust.

When the the Maverick first came out in the summer of 1969 as a '70 model it was a decent looking car. After the big bumpers got hung on it it '73, not so much. A guy I went to high school with got a brand new '74 orange and white Grabber with a 302 and a 3 speed in the floor. He thought it was hot stuff but it was not very fast.

Right. It was truly the end for performance and good looks for most cars. Some of them still had big cube engines but they didn't make the same power as a few years before.
