I pulled onto a road near my house this afternoon and got up to 55 MPH. Lately, on the first few accelerations of the day, the RPMs don't really change much when the transmission shifts and it hesitates to get up to speed. After I've been driving for a bit it acts normal. That happened today but once I was cursing at 55 MPH, every 30 seconds or so I felt a shudder or what seemed like a shift even though I don't think it did shift. This happened 3-4 times before I had to stop for construction area that was down to one lane. When I accelerated again, the truck was having a hard time accelerating and then all of a sudden it shifted and the truck finally took off. After that, the rest of my trip seemed normal.
Truck has just over 21,000 miles and the transmission has always shifted very harsh right from the day I brought it home new. I had it at the dealer a few months ago and they said the transmission fluid was fine and no codes had been tripped. Does it seem like the transmission is on its way out or could it be something else?
