rail tracking expert level.....

I checked on my rail tracking this morning. Now on NS after the switch from UP in St Louis area. Said it had passed through Princeton IN this morning at 5:24. I did my usual and looked up where that town is and low and behold they have a continuously running live feed of the tracks on YouTube that has the past several days footage on it. I backed it up to this morning at that time and watched the train go through. Had about 5 auto racks mixed in but the only CSX car I could tell in the crappy light was this one. The rest were other railroad companies cars mixed in. Mine is on TTGX 996062 which is a CSX rail car. Very cool!

The railcar is going to end up in the Shelbyville, KY area drop off yard at the assigned ramp on my window sticker then wait for a truck to come pick it up for the rest of the way to Cincinnati. Getting close!!

It's now arrived at the Shelbyville Norfolk Southern auto distribution center. Big rail yard full of auto racks. The train part is over, way faster than I expected actually. Now the maverick sits there and waits for a truck to get scheduled to pick it up and bring to the dealer. Final step!

Wow you are a rail expert! Can you telll me who I can get the rail car # from (dealer?)? I just got notice on the tracker that my truck has shipped (from today) with ETA Feb 9th to Canada. When is a good time to check that it's on the rail car or will this be another 1-2 weeks? I don't want to annoy my dealer too much and ask prematurely.

Whenever mine get built (Feb 3) it may go the same train route. Final destination: Airport Ford in Florence, KY.

You can get it from your dealer or Ford Marketing can get it for you.

I would ask your dealer first. Ford Chat in Canada may or may not give it to you – they told me to contact the dealer. By the way, my Maverick left the plant on Jan. 2, should be crossing at Sarnia today or tomorrow (Jan. 12/13), quicker than I thought.

You want the railcar number. Probably something like TTGX 994321. You may have to get the sales manager to get it for you rather than a salesperson – depends on the dealer and what the sales people have access to. It took my sales manager a few minutes to find the info: it's not something they seem to do on a regular basis.

I asked Ford chat for the rail car number. Im not sure how the railroad companies transition up north into Canada. Mine was on Union Pacific until st Louis area where their territory ends and Norfolk Southern takes over to come further east towards me. They stay on the same rail car (mine happened to a CSX) to their final destination though. It's more efficient for the railroads to share equipment like cars and locomotives across territories so you always see things like UP or CN locomotives and various companies power and cars everywhere. Mine was on the rail car for about 10 days total.

My maverick made its way to the dealership in Cincinnati sometime yesterday. Unfortunately they’re closed today so I guess tomorrow is the big day. Like I said previously I’m 99% sure my truck was on the same train as yours so I’d bet your truck will be in very, very soon.
