My solution happened by accident. After Android Auto disconnects, it reverts to the last used source. I had my SiriusXM tuned to an actual station when my subscription expired. Station went silent and now so is my truck when it starts up. 😁

Yes. This fix also works for me. SirusXM has a test station with no audio. I set the truck to this a few months ago and haven't had a problem since.

...I don't connect my phone for every drive though, and when I don't connect my phone, after like 30-60 seconds, the radio (sometimes?) turns on by itself to SiriusXM or whatever non-AA input was last selected.

I expect this is the as-intended behavior, but I hate it. Is there a way to disable it? I want peace and quiet as the default.
I hate it, too. I have an XL and it does a similar thing. I can turn the radio OFF. But next time I get in the truck, the gd radio comes on. I didn't turn it on and I did not want it on.

And in case anyone thinks it's an Android thing - it's not. Sometimes my phone is powered off, or not even in the vehicle when the radio automatically comes on.

It's not unlike the HVAC. It does things it decides should be done and not what I want (Recirc goes on or off, instead of the setting I want). Also, if I turn off the screen, at some point, it decides to come back on.

I don't have anything remotely close to this issue happening in my Maverick.

Me either.

And, it appears to be an issue with both the standard and Sync 3 infotainment systems, plus maybe the climate controls.

Just weird. Where would a person even start to look? 🤔

It's radio interference from one of those "climate balloons" that some other country seems to keep losing track of............................

If I may add my 2 Cents. My 2017 Escape would do weird things with the HVAC system or the radio like it was haunted. Now, this 2022 Mav. does similar. It's like the screen goes black and then reboots The map and time will lockup but if I unplug and replug my phone then it works fine. I think that I'm just going to have to accept that my Maverick is one of the Banshee Editions.

I took my Lariat in to the dealer. They said they were going to do a firmware update to the infotainment system.

The problems with the infotaiment always turning on when I turn on my Maverick seems solved. I has been several months since my infotainment update and it's been good.
