I lucked out - I just wanted a new vehicle that I could make my own, the Maverick XL ticked the boxes and my neighborhood dealership had one on the lot. I didn't choose my color or the options, I just went for it before I lost the chance. I know how impossibly rough it must be to have the string strung along for so many months when, in the beginning, it felt like these trucks were going to happen in an orderly fashion. Nothing sucks more than looking forward to something that just keeps moving farther and farther away. I feel for that, seriously.

For me, the only thing that grinds my gears here is when people look at the work I'm doing on my truck and then talk shit about how I should have just bought a higher trim, how I must hate my truck etc. It's my goddamned truck! Whomever pays my monthly payments for me can totally tell me off for the shit I'm doing lol

I don't need to do a thing to my truck to make it great, but what's great is I can do things myself to make it even better.

That said, for every person whispering in the crowd that "I shouldn't have bought an XL if I wanted a Lariat", there are so many more of y'all that celebrate and enjoy the work being done, and I appreciate the hell out of that.

To those whisperers: Stay mad.
Sorry for all the hate youve gotten lol what work have you done to your truck? I’m very interested in this part. I have a number of things i’d like to tackle when mine arrives.

No angry just disappointed to basically wait 11 months to get a truck I ordered in June🥺
What was the expected wait time for you guys who got onto the pre-orders in the first month? I didnt even know the truck existed until december haha i dont totally understand why the orders dont seem to be totally fulfilled in date order either. That must be frustrating

Indeed....It finally arrived and we bought it but it took 7 months. Now I'm sticking around to help other members understand the process and just how long it can take.

I'm also adding after market accessories like crazy and showing them off. :D
Oh are there threads where you have photos and or descriptions of the aftermarket stuff? Thatd help me greatly

As a late June order I'm disappointed at the lack of information that the Ford customer service puts out. I could care less what the dealer has to say. They're either ignorant, misinformed , or lying, or a combo of all three.

But I'm not angry, it's actually Turned into a running joke.

I'm sure I'll Have my truck by the time I'm 70, 65 now.

Just curious.

what’s your mo? You trying to get some angries together for a coup?
No lol i happen to be one of the few who doesn’t need my truck in any timeframe. I’m just happy to have my price locked in where it is. I’m just trying to understand the angry populus better so i get less annoyed when i see them pop up in other threads. So far its working… also talking about the truck with people here is kinda theraputic while i wait lol

I’m just baffled how the orders are picked. Seems like time ordered is not very high on the priority list. Also at this point kinda happy to get a later build so the little problems will hopefully be worked out and I don’t have to have my new vehicle getting covered in salt/sand from the winter. Hope to have it this spring and another thing the value of the car I’m trading in has gone up quite a bit so that’s great too 😊
Sounds like youre in a good spot!

It hasn't been a ton, luckily! Just happens to be one of those things that doesn't make a lick of sense to me, and kinda feels elitist.

So far I've hacked in cruise control, added a Fiesta ST leather steering wheel, activated Traffic Sign Recognition with the built-in camera, replaced the intake with a Buschur's intake (I want to hear the turbo! Though I may be hearing it too much lol), and I have some big plans I'm working on that I'm really excited about!

Oh you were the one who posted the fiesta steering wheel!? I have questions about that haha i’ll ask them in your thread for simplicity. Have you had the intake long enough to notice performance/milage differences?

my main things are an aftermarket leather interior, bed liner, and 120 inverter. The first one i didnt think was worth the lariat + lux packages required. The last 2 i didnt want to finance so i’ll do them as DIY projects

I think frustration is more accurate.

Most of us had no idea about the allocation system, or that it would apply in this manner to trucks you custom ordered.

I ordered in June and have seen multiple vehicles ordered after mine with the exact same configuration delivered because of where they ordered their truck. Because I want to support my local dealer the Ford system penalizes me, someone whose only skin in the game is a single truck they ordered...

I understand the system, and for stock orders, I'm sure it works fine, but special orders, not so much.

Ah thats understandable. Sorry. Should have labelled the thread as frustration instead of anger.

Not mad but annoyed with all of the crying and whining, it's like every thread turns into the same non-productive trash. It's a damn truck, there are literally people in the world with so many far worse problems and people want to cry and whine here because of an uncontrollable pandemic and the associated supply chain crisis. Get a grip people. When your truck gets here it gets here.

Same incessant whining in every thread.
Same “I bought my truck this date and NoThInG from ford”
Same “nice pics! Can’t wait for My TrUcK I ordered it this date and haven’t heard blah blah”

It’s getting so old, so many members need a reality check, including the mods who delete my posts giving a days dose of reality check.

I haven't been mad personally, but I've also only been waiting since November. I could see how someone waiting since last summer would be bothered especially when someone who orders the last day they can on January gets a build date before them. I was bummed too because I thought that technically meant that since it doesn't matter when you order, the gamble would be better on getting one somewhat sooner.

I have a vehicle to drive til I get one, but it's getting old so I was wanting to replace it this year before any more repair bills might come my way.

Ive noticed a lot of anger on various threads here. Just was wondering how many of you are mad because you sold your previous car too early (or similar), and how many are just mad because youve been waiting longer than you expected, or another reason all together. Lemme hear it all! A safe place to vent… and helps me understand where everyones coming from better.
I’m not angry, I’m just originally from Minnesota, so I am passive aggressive as fuck 🤣
