Proximity key lock. So proximity lock unlocks door when key is near without having to push any buttons on the fob?

This is new to me. My vehicles all have fob locks

so let’s say I stash my keys under the truck which I do quite often when we fish or waterski or snowmobile. Anyone can just open the door at this point ? Can I disable proximity lock ?

Yes when you pull on the handle the door will unlock. No you cannot leave a fob within receiving distance of the truck. Anyone can walk up and unlock it. They sell "bags " on Amazon that supposedly block the signal - I havent tested those.

Maybe stupid comment, but doesn’t the number pad on the door help with these situations? Like can’t you leave keys in car and lock with numberpad

Will check out those bags.

Yea the keypad might work as well if it allows you to lock your keys in the truck.

Wondering this as well. I leave my keys in my Truck when I go to the gym and use the keypad to lock/unlock.
Obviously this won't work with proximity lock unless the function is bypassed when locked with the keypad.

Right so with proximity lock I can’t lock my keys in the truck on purpose with keypad which I do all the time in my 2005 f150

Wait, I just thought about this. If your in your car with the key, someone should not be able to open it from the outside and carjack you. So I think you CAN leave them in it and lock it with the keypad.

In a keyless-entry car, can the door be opened from the outside if the car is locked from the inside, for example, while driving? - Quora

"It can not be opened if it is locked and the fob is in the car that is the point of locking the door to keep others out."

Nice. So I’ll just lock them in the truck. Forgot this one has a keypad.

You are supposed to be able to lock the keys inside if you use the keypad. At that point the only way to unlock is to use the keypad. Should be easy enough to try and verify.

Ford itself advertises the keypad feature for when you want to lock your keys in the car.

so this means you can lock passive keys in with keypad just like you could with fob.
Great news. Huge feature for me
