Puzu dsp issues?

After reading on here about to puzu Dsp I ordered it. Plugged it in and wow those speakers came alive! Ordered some alpine type s replacements for the doors, and the sound changed, I set my bass on the lowest setting and it still sounds like crap after I turn it up. Hooked up my laptop to adjust the dsp settings and it got worse. I ended up unplugging the puzu dsp and the speakers sound great. I’m about to build a fiberglass box for a 10” skar sub and I’d really like to get the dsp working correctly. Any tips? If you have setup your settings with the laptop can you share the specs you went with? Feeling like I wasted $130 on this thing.

I've not had any issues with my Puzu DSP Amp. Puzu has a website at puzuaudio.com.

Down at the bottom of the home page are two links. The first one is After service. The other that I noticed is Contact Us.

I got the idea that Puzu is very willing to provide installation help, troubleshooting service and dealing with warranty issues.

Yeah I tried 3 times to send it and after I did the cache thing it blanks the page. Uh50 your post is what made me purchase this thing, just makes no sense that my speakers sound horrible when this thing is plugged in.

@Blu no I don’t think so. Is that gonna make it sound better? With my screen the bass is turned all the way down and I also did it on the laptop and it still sounded like too much bass

sounds like a problem with the input level or gain, or ground.

have you ever installed your own amp before or is this the first?

according to your post it sounds like it was working properly with the stock speakers?

then did you change anything else after installing the new front door speakers?

Yeah I’ve done systems in most vehicles I’ve owned, but the newer they get the more complicated they seem to be. This came with a harness and everything seems normal. But before the dsp I could crank my stereo to 27-28 no issues, after dsp 20 was loud as hell. Installed the alpines and all of a sudden it’s got too much bass.

Where did you guys order it with the Maverick wire harness included? 2 sellers never responded on Ebay and the third which I think was suggested here wanted $149 then added some second shipping cost to cover the harness but it was an additional $80 and im not even confident they would even get it right. Been trying to buy this thing for a month. I already replaced the door speakers and wanted to see how it sounds and make adding a powered sub easier later on down the road.

Did you check your occupancy setting? I originally set my base system to driver and then changed it to, what I think is called all seats, and there was a big difference.

I'm sorry for you problems.

Interesting, if it worked on your factory speakers then it makes no sense it doesn't work on the replacements. I don't doubt your observations but that fact alone makes me believe that it's not the Puzu DSP that causing the problem.

One thing to check is which way the Mode/Bypass button is pushed.

With this you can determine the sound through the DSP and also without using the DSP. That way you don't have to plug your harness in and remove it to check. I would also make sure that on the Ford Display that under sound settings, "All seats" is chosen, and the ACM output is flat across the three bands. This setting gives me much more rear sound...which I like.

Did you use a PC or phone to set up your DSP? If it is a PC, did you save your DSP setup with the factory speakers to your PC? If so, you might try and reload this file.

There were a number of conditions set by the tuning software that will affect output. It might be warranted to go through the initial set up process verifying the configuarable settings.

These suggestions are all based on setting up the DSP with a computer. I have not used the Android software.

I realize the if you attempted to install this then you are technically inclined and probably have gone through the steps above and the trouble-shooting suggestion in the User's Guide. But, it never hurts to check it again.

I experienced the same with loudness and had to turn down my listening level, but then I don't think I ever turned mine up to 20. I listen to most of my music around 9-11.

I have a 2022 Lariat Lux don't have that on the sound settings. Can't find it anywhere.
