Hello, this seems like the most right forum for this post.
I have a 2025 Hybrid AWD 4KT that I got at the beginning of July. I have ~5300 kilometers on it now, and want to do an early service.
Oil change, no problem.
PTU Fluid Change - Problem... the dealership has no maintenance item for that. They know what a PTU is (thank goodness), but had to cobble together a "service" which was fluid around $44 CAD. Then the service manager told the person I was dealing with that they have no idea, so 5 hours time to do. She took it down to either 1 or 2 hours, for a total of $283 CAD. I said no. Both on price and a complete lack of confidence in their ability to do it even remotely correct.
Did I ask for the wrong thing? I can't imagine there isn't a service item for this. I know older PTU's in other vehicles were not servicable, but our Mavericks definitely are.
I was wanting to do the PTU do to the pictures and concerns that it might be low filled on this oil change. And then do the RDU on the next oil change at +8000km just to get all the breakin crap out of them. My understanding is changing the oil in these units is only good and won't cause any issues.
As I don't have a lift or a garage, I'm going to have to find a competent mechanic to look into doing it for me.
thanks
Andrew
