Protective Film and Lund Hood Protector

My MAV has the factory installed protective film on the hood and fenders. My wife bought me a Ford Lund hood protector for Father’s Day. Can I install the hood protector onto the protective film (since it won’t be in direct contact metal of the hood)? I’ve reached out to Lund on a couple of occasions but they have not responded. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Just a follow-up in case anyone has a similar question in the future. I finally got through and spoke with someone at Lund. They told me that the hood protector needs to adhere directly to the paint of the hood. He told me that the 3M tape on the hood protector would not adhere properly to the protective film and it would eventually likely blow off. So...I will not be installing the Lund hood protector.
