Hey all, new to the forums and owner of a 22 XLT that came with the standard 2 flip-keys. Personally, I'm not a fan of these as I find them bulky and the key-turning motion seems like I'm going to break it. So I opted for a separate hard key (Strattec 5937928) that I had cut by the dealer and programmed myself using the tried-and-true 2 key on board method. I chose this new key as it has the smallest profile of the 128-bit side mills. Works perfectly.
I'm trying to minimize brass/remotes on my keyring, so my main goal is to use the same remote (Strattec 5925871) I use for my work van (2018 Transit 250) for my Maverick. Both use the standard Ford 315 MHZ and SHOULD, in theory, work. One remote has been proven to work several Fords in the past in my experience.
My question: would anyone happen to know how to program JUST a remote keyless entry to our Mavericks? I've tried the 8-cycle ignition method as well as having the remote next to the ignition at time of key-program...and read the owner's manual cover to cover. I'm well-versed in all the key programming methods both on-board and with scan tools. No luck with keyless entry only.
Thanks in advance.
