Does Ford prioritize certain models (Lariats over XL’s) or do they just start what they have parts for (eco-boost over hybrid)? BTW, new member…sorry if this is a repetitive question!

I honestly do not think anyone really knows. All people can do is to guess. I watch the thread closely and lately have been seeing far more Lariats and hybrids than in the past. Maybe they are trying to do some catching up on the hybrids, but just a wild guess.

It is a changing situation. With the post Covid supply chains finally getting better, Ford would rather make the more profitable XLTs and Lariats. Especially those with options. Previously, computer chips and other materials were in very short supply. So the conventional wisdom was to order bare bones with few options. That has changed now.

And for the one week in 2022 that orders were taken for the 2023 model year, Ford took orders for twice as many Hybrids and XLs as they can (or are willing) to produce. I felt very lucky when my XL Hybrid (with a hitch, which is in short supply) got picked for production last month. It is like trying to win two or three coin tosses in a row (50 / 50 Hybrid, 50 / 50 XL, 50 / 50 trailer hitch).

EcoBoost orders are more likely to be filled than Hybrid, but they are increasing Hybrid production. Plus they will be adding a third shift to the Maverick factory, sometime this July.

it al comes down to the allowcations with in the dealer you orderd from, Lets just say that your dealer has 300 orders and you were a priorty 10 order from that dealer not a 12 or 13 and or a 19 priorty you would have to know the ranking of your dealership total ford sales. for example my dealership was in the top 10 in the country in total ford sales to be exact # 7. I have a orderd X L catus/Gray with copilot and SLD/rear/window and trailer/hitch it was scheduled for buid june 5th. now that being said i was a priorty 10 order and i was told by my dearler that they are just now begining to get into ther regular orders for 2023 customers that was not a roll over from 2022 this means that if you are a 10 or 11 or 12 or 13 and your dealership has the allowcations for there region it will get built X L or X L T or LARIAT! and you should get a production date in the next few weeks.
