I’m trying to understand the priority code numbers. For whatever reason the Maverick I ordered from a dealer changed from 19 to a 3. Would there be a reason for that, further is there any difference between a 2 and a 3,?
Thanks

You gotta call your dealer and ask. The codes are just the build priority internally for them.

Someone answered this question for me and they said that 3 is the highest priority for retail orders. Dealer has higher priority with 1 and 2.

19 is the default priority code for retail orders. The lower the number, the higher the priority assigned (w/in the dealership). 03 is the highest priority that a dealer can assign to an order. Ford can move orders to 01 or 02.

What @KevCuRaoi said.
In addition the codes only matter within that dealership, do not compare your number with someone that has an order at another dealership.
For example if everyone at dealership ‘A’ is a 3 and everyone at dealership ‘B’ are 19; the ‘first’ people at each dealership are basically equal (without considering ordered model and dealer allocations).

Yep, what @Mabcim said ☝🏼plus within each dealership your configuration matters most. If you ordered what Ford is able to build (less constrained or more close to what they projected to build) it could be selected for build date before a higher priority code order within the same dealership. Best case for getting a build would be a lariat, ecoboost. Least likely to be built would be an XL Hybrid.

Priority code 3 is good, unless all your dealerships retail orders are 3’s then it won’t matter. On a positive note, it’s a good sign that your dealer is active in your order, and also communicating that to you. So many dealers are hands off and just forget about it 🤷🏼‍♂️ until they get the “it’s scheduled” email.

@Mabcim And I have the same dealership and they go above and beyond to teach and inform customers. @fordvideoguy should have an honorary doctorate in Ford Maverickology.

Is there a way to find the current priority code? Have that which was assigned at order (19). Just curious to see if it has changed.

+1000% Between the time I ordered and received my 24 XLT, I received 3 emails from Ford and about 6 emails from the dealership. Ford's were automatic and the dealer's were from my SA. I considered that perfect service while I waited. Probably under 100 words total kept me in the loop and excited to pick it up when it arrived.

So very little effort, yet the horror stories of zero communication with tons of questions still prevail.

My understanding is this; 10-19 is dealer range (19 being the standard for a customer order). 1-9 is set by Ford. 99 is held for orders with errors needing to be corrected or Orders to be deleted. Most dealers have 99% of their customer orders set to 19 and move a few up in cases where they made a mistake that caused a delay to the original order if if the order was damaged or lost in transit. Last year the majority of us who had My23 to MY24 carryovers were bumped up to priority 2 by Ford. Once you understand the priority codes you need to start learning about Dealer Allocation.
