Anyone else having power train/AWD malfunction problems. Last 6-7 months I’ve had warning light and messages about power train/AWD malfunction and truck going into limp mode. Sometimes I can turn the Mav off and it’ll correct it for a bit, but lately it’s gotten worse. I’ve been to two different dealers. 1st time told me to shut engine off and restart it that resolved problem and didn’t happen again for a couple of months. I was told it was system sensing uneven wheel speed due to wheel spin. But lately it’s gotten worse. Took it to dealer last week they kept it two days and said it was fixed. 4 days later today it did it again.

It does sound like a sensor problem of some sort (although I'm no mechanical expert.). These vehicles are so computer driven which requires many sensors for proper operation. Hope you can get someone to figure it out.

I’m glad it’s classified as a drivetrain problem as I’ve got nearly 39k miles on it so out of 36/36000 warranty

You are making me glad I purchased the extended warrantee.

Was the original problem reported under 36k? If so, maybe it is still covered?

I’ve got 7/100,000 ford premium warranty but since it’s power train it’s covered to 5yr/60,000 miles under original warranty so no deductible to pay.

What's the code they pulled? Sounds a lot like the problem I had with my wheel speed sensor not getting a signal because one of the wires had gotten shredded due to zero shielding outside of black Tesa tape. 😆😆😆

That’s my thought too. Just looked and can’t find the repair report so don’t know what code it was showing.

Hi Mike! I can look into your Maverick's concern on my end. To get started, could you please send a private message over with the name/location of your local Ford dealer and your Maverick's VIN?

I went the easy route, I got lucky and found a great deal on a 24 lariat hybrid. So I just trade it in. So I still have two Maverick, but both are hybrids.

My power train/AWD malfunction light was a blessing in disguise. Made we browse dealership website and I found a 24 lariat hybrid at a good price. Drove there this morning and they traded for $8300 out the door. It’s Hot Pepper Red. First thing wife said was it’s hers, I’ve got to drive her 23 Carbonized Gray lariat hybrid. Only downside is my 22 was paid for, now I’ve got start payments all over $158/month.
