So we left mav at home while on vacay and he has stopped talking to us. He is NOT a hybrid. He’s a 2024 tremor XLT.
First there was a power train low power message 2 days ago and today a message that communication is being “shut down” for low battery.

Is this normal?

The battery message is normal. The other is not, but may be related. Just drive it more and see if it pops up again.

Isn’t the first code the one that sends the truck from 70 to 20 mph on the interstate after the software upgrade ?

I think all of today's new vehicles are required to perform extensive emissions testing while parked. When you add that to the constant "quiescent" load of excessive electronics, it makes quite a bit of parasitic battery drain. So, IMHO your situation is "normal" but still sucks. Deep cycling lead/acid batteries seems to damage them a bit each time, so I put a 3.5-amp float charger on my hybrid whenever I plan to park it for more than a few days, and this solves all ills. If you had to leave it at an airport for 2 weeks, you might just have to cross your fingers. This situation could make one contemplate a battery disconnect switch...

Probably just tweaking because of the low battery. I mean, it's also information stored on FORD's servers, so who knows.... maybe you've been deprioritized lol. Gonna have to wait for that weekly server refresh now 🤣

The power train one you can usually sort out by just letting the vehicle warm up, putting it in drive, rolling forward, then reverse, rolling backward, park, then shut off and restart. I did this many times on a previous Escape that got the message often even after their "fix".

But it sounds like you just need to drive a bit for a longer.

When not driving for a long period of time, connect a battery maintainer to the truck. It will prolong your battery's lifetime - at least FLAs.

NOCO battery maintainers are very good. Available at Walmart or Amazon. They have settings to use them on flooded lead acid, AGM or Li-po.
