Just received this message in the FordPass app and wondering if anyone else has experienced it? According to the date, the message was issued while my Ford dealer was doing the safety bulletin repair for the battery cable. Dealer is closed but I will contact them tomorrow but in the meantime I thought I would post for any feedback owners might have.

Maybe that message was left when they were swapping the harness out for a new one? Without a scan tool you cannot be sure if it's an active alert though. We have seen people post similar messages before, typically related to the harness if I recall correctly.

Yep. Unless the check engine lamp is on, it seems that the code has cleared. The battery wire harness replacement involves de-energizing the high voltage system which likely threw this code in the process.

Thanks. The timing does make it appear the repair might be the cause. The message also says to get it into a dealer as soon as possible. When I get a fix from Ford I will post the results. Another odd thing is as I was driving home I had a car pull out in front of me. Nothing major, just normal stuff. But then I get ringing alerts that the driver collision function has been enabled. Never saw that before in much worse cases. Could be the bad battery cable connection had that disabled all along.

Give the dealer's service department a call, they can confirm if this issue was related to the repairs. They also have access in the system to see if there's an active DTC (diagnostic trouble code).

Yes, when the system doesn't have enough power it starts powering down all kind of stuff. Typically starts with the infotainment system not playing audio (sometimes), interior lights not working when you open and close doors. The worse it gets, the more it disables. I suspect the AEB system would be rather high on the list of things to maintain though, so the 12v battery could have been really low!

Take it in, get it fixed. It's either a replacement for the GSM or an update (reflash). It's common in the Escapes/Bronco Sports too.

It's really got nothing to do with the battery capacity - although, that is another TSB issue to address with an updated larger capacity AGM. It's simply a miscommunication. It can be solved sometimes by rolling forward, shutting the vehicle off, restart. Sometimes it takes a short drive.

If you have the older battery, all you have to tell them is you are getting constant deep sleep notifications and they will (should) replace it as well under that TSB. Two separate issues, two common problems across all these platforms.

Two things FORD refuses to fix at the production level for whatever reason. No good reason this should still be going on.

FYI for others who might receive this message In their FordPass app. The second part of the message says to schedule a service appointment as soon as possible.

I contacted the Ford dealer this morning to let them know that it was generated after they fixed the faulty battery connector outlined in the latest safety bulletin. I was told this is normal when the battery is disconnected and re-connected and there was no need to bring it in and it could be ignored as long as the check engine light wasn’t on.

I asked how the message would clear and was told the error code that generated it will stay in the system for 60 days and in fact this is just one of many error codes that are recorded when the battery is disconnected. So I guess I will just have to see if that happens in two months.

It seems there should be a better way to communicate this, either being told when you pick up the vehicle that this might happen, or better yet, a way for the service location to clear the error code when they close the service ticket. But at least I don’t have to take it in for a service appointment.

There's literally a delete button right there at the top if your issue is it appearing in your FordPass message queue.
How stupid am I. I even knew it was there. Thanks for the reminder.

Hey there! If you send over a DM with your VIN and Ford dealer info, I can look into your concerns on my end.
