Those of you that have bed covers do you get much dust coming through the drilled holes in the bed? I’m installing a Bakflip MX4 tomorrow and I was wondering if I should order some of those rubber plugs for the holes. I also plan on installing a tailgate seal. I used some RTV on the bed rail covers seams. I don’t know if I will try channeling the water away from the bulkhead. I’ll have to see how much water comes in.
Thanks!

You will need those holes for water to drain out of the bed. I do not believe it is possible to get ANY cover 99% watertight. With my Rough Country low profile flip up I see water infiltration at the hinge areas on which ever side is downhill. The seals on the cover's rails are depressed from the cover so water flows into the bed not down the rail. Also I need to readjust the rails to get the cover seals to fit tighter at the latch points. I am considering selling the cover and get one that sits on top of the rails eliminating the channels, drain hoses, etc. Dust is the least of the problem. The tailgate seal kit I bought from ESI did help considerably with water running in at the tailgate.

I didn't plug my bed holes and want to keep them open in case some significant water gets in. I have a DiamondBack cover and a hard rubber bed mat (cut myself from scrap material). I also applied a tailgate seal. I've had no problem with dust. I think the tailgate seal is important for dust prevention. I still get water dribbling in at the bed rail expansion seam which I'm still experimenting with ways to keep it sealed as it expands in the hot summer and shrinks in the winter.
