Please help enabling video playback on 2025 lariat usb data port

Hi all. Im a new maverick owner and new to the group. Im not opposed to forscan if i have a playbook to work with. My question is does anyone know how to enable usb video playback on 25 lariat. I can put a flash drive in the front usb data port but I only get the audio. Im sure this is a safety feature and would like to disable it. I watch my movies on break at work in my truck. Im able to screen mirror my old galaxy phone thru android auto but would rather just play my movies thru the usb port and not mess around with an unnecessary phone. Thanks

you probably can't. i doubt the computer running the screen has the capability to play back movies, which is why you need your phone to do it.

movie files aren't like pretty standard .mp3 files. .mkv, .mp4, .avi, container formats, a half-dozen different compression formats for video, a few for audio, certainly not worth ford's time to include all that in a vehicle. mirroring video doesn't require anywhere near the capabilities.

I found this thread that says it works with the xl and xlt, but it says it doesnt work with the lariat. My 2025 also has the 13" screen and sync 4. I was just hoping someone has found a workaround for this.

Crazy to think that the operating system for Sync 4 has built in CODEC for playing multiple video format file extensions and all you have to do is change a setting to "enabled"!

Seems the more threads I read the more I realize there are a lot of options are available on a lot of vehicles, but disabled from ford. Kinda frustrating I paid for the lariat and still have to try to find a way to utilize these options. I dont even have the global open and close....debating on enabling that but the usb port is by far my biggest hurdle right now!
