This is my first post.
I changed my PTU and differential oil last week. When I removed the under body shield I found this sitting in it. It's hard to get an accurate measurement given it's condition but my callipers put it at 9.5 mm (3/8") ID and roughly 17.4 mm (11/16"-3/4") OD. It's soft rubber. A bolt isolator of some sort?
Anybody familiar enough with the front end/engine area to help me figure out where it came from?

It could be either debris. Or intercooler or radiator bushing im trying to remember but or air filter rubber that holds the air filter box in place. Theres a lot that could be.

I’d lean towards “road debris.” That bushing looks like it has been beaten, cut, chewed up, and spit out. I’d be surprised if you could do that to it in 2 years in a Ford dump truck chassis much less a Maverick.

Another thought… there’s a good chance if a bushing like that came out of a motor mount or some accessory bracket, there’d be a heck of a new knock developed, or something that seems loose under the hood, no?

I'll have to take a look at my Pup, and see if there is something the looks similar.
I want to check for that possible "water-leak" in the cowl.. (not smelling anything... Truck still has that "Factory-Smell" 18-month old 2022)..

Being around trucks and cars for years..
IF it is "soft" texture. Looks like a bushing that one would find in a firewall hole.
Like to protect wires or hoses transversing.
Does also look like more then a "few years of wear"...
Also, the wear (dried-out) looks "Heat-related"...

Thanks all for your help.
I had hoped it was road debris but this morning I found another piece of rubber in the driveway which fits perfectly with the one pictured like a jig-saw puzzle. Odds are slim both pieces would find their way into my splash guard.
Any one know the diameter of our front sway bar?
