This is the second of five long posts; on the B&O sound system upgrade of my 2024 Ford Maverick with Lariat trim. Here are the titles of the 5 posts:

Part 1: Introduction and Conclusion of B&O Sound System Upgrade

Part 2: B&O Front Door, Tweeter and Rear Speaker Replacement

Part 3: B&O Center Speaker Replacement with a 4 inch Speaker

Part 4: B&O Subwoofer Replacement

Part 5: B&O Upgrade, Subwoofer Amp Installation

Here are some videos which assist with the removal of the panels. I will not repeat what is documented on the videos but add some findings from my installation on by 2024 Maverick Lariat.

Front Door Speakers:

Rear Speakers:

Dash Tweeters:

FORD MAVERICK UPPDER DASH SPEAKER REPLACEMENT! (Improve your poor audio)

I use speaker wire harness adapters to avoid splicing and soldering into the truck wire harness. Plus it ensures correct speaker polarity. If you purchase the speakers from Crutchfield they provide complementary installation kits; wire harness and door adapters.

Front Door Speakers:
Ford Maverick Part 2: Front Door, Tweeter and Rear Speaker Replacement 1769453063287-4y

- Infinity Reference REF607FSL Reference Series 6-1/2" 2-way car speakers (shallow mount)
- Metra 72-5602 Speaker Wiring Harness
- Metra 82-5605 Speaker Mounting Brackets

Panel removal is per the video. You will need to push in hard on the front portion of the panel behind the latch to pop out the panel. There is only one connector on the driver switch panel. Quite a bit of force is required to remove the panel from the door. This is a good sign of quality. Nothing was broken in the panel removal/installation process.

The Infinity speaker attaches without modification to the Metra speaker mounting bracket. The OEM wiring with Metra adapter is very long. Use a plastic tie to mitigate potential rattle from the speaker wire harness connector.

Rear Speakers:
Ford Maverick Part 2: Front Door, Tweeter and Rear Speaker Replacement 1769453114727-04

- Infinity REF-4032CFX Reference 4 Inch Two-Way Car Audio Speakers
- Metra 72-5603 Speaker Harness

On the 2024 Maverick the panels no longer have “hooks” which you push up to remove. The panels are attached by push in pins. On both panels I tore off the two top pins off from the panel. Tried to glue the pins back on the panel. The speaker magnet is almost too big for the speaker hole. I guess this is why Crutchfield does not list these speakers for the Maverick. The panel reattached to truck very well. I wonder if the magnet has anything to do with it. I have driven the truck for weeks with these speakers installed with no issues or compromise to the sound quality. Just remember these are 4 inch speakers so do not expect any real bass.

Dash Tweeters:
Ford Maverick Part 2: Front Door, Tweeter and Rear Speaker Replacement 1769453156762-e9

- Infinity Reference REF757T Reference Series 3/4" textile dome tweeters
- Metra 72-5605 Speaker Wiring Harnesses

For me the tweeter grills came off with the A-pillar and were difficult to separate from the A-pillar.

In the above picture, top center is the OEM tweeter. On the lower right is one of the adapter brackets that came with tweeter kit. Lower left is finished product. It is the modified bracket (cut and file) which holds the new tweeter in the OEM dash location. At the OEM dash tweeter location I had to trim a couple tabs so the tweeter sits deep in the OEM dash location. I used electrical tape to keep the Metra harness attached to the tweeter. This is probably not necessary. I recommend you wrap some sound deadening material around connector which attaches to the OEM wire harness. This mitigates this connector vibrating against the dash and prevent dash rattle.

Thanks for the post.

I was wondering why you did not wire in the tweeter crossover's?

I have the base system and was thinking of adding the same Infinity tweeters and I see they come with crossovers.

I did not use the Infinity supplied tweeter crossover because I assume the OEM sound system knows those outputs are for the tweeters and would already have a hi pass filter in place. Now if the vehicle does not have OEM tweeters I would definitively use the crossovers. I saw a video where someone replaced the Maverick rear speakers with just tweeters. I would use the crossovers for that application.

I do have any first hand experience hearing a Maverick sound system with and without tweeter crossovers installed on the dash tweeters. So I cannot tell you if it makes a difference.

If were to add the tweeter crossover, to the dash tweeters, I would still use the Metra 72-5605 Speaker Wiring Harnesses. I would cut the speaker terminals off the harness and solder to tweeter crossover harness. The tweeter dash wire harness is short and would be difficult to work on. I did not want to solder and heat shrink tubing that close to the dash.

Thanks for the reply. I was kind of thinking the same thing.

The high pass filter is actually soldered on the OEM tweeter itself. Since the tweeters are fed from the front door speaker signals, I am not sure there is any other way for Ford to do it. Maybe there is something else between the door and the dash...

The Standard and B&O sound systems have different speaker connectivity. Below is the Standard system and the tweeters are driven off the door speakers. The crossover should be used for this application.

Here is the B&O schematic. The tweeter is driven directly from the DSP. Since the center and rear speakers are not on this schematic, it appears the center and rear speakers are driven from the "head unit."
