Hmm. I got a paper like that and put down a deposit, but never got an email from Ford.Slightly piggy backing on this thread since I too am paranoid
I do have an order number on mine and I did get an email and Ford Marketing number has confirmed that it is an order. No deposit requested. In fact it was refused.
I do not have a bad feeling about it. The dealer does have a good reputation. But a signed purchase agreement with some money exchanged would be ideal. Who knows? There is nothing that would prevent the dealership being sold next week and they have new policy in place.
The subject is perfect: Paranoia. But I can do something to reduce that, for me at least. Do you have any suggestions?
All good points. Funny how some are requiring a deposit and there don't! I'm not mad at them though, it made sense. I did receive a a pair titled "Preview Order, Order #, sales code #, all my options and packages itemized and an MSRP. The said that price could go down IF there are any incentives being offered at the time of actual sale. We were assured that the deposit was totally refundable if we backed out ( I won't, I saw one last week and am in love)! We both signed it. That makes it binding, doesn't it? I've had a couple of shaky and doubtful moments relating to the rumors of Hybrid delays being due to problems with the engine. I no longer listen to the naysayers!Slightly piggy backing on this thread since I too am paranoid

You are part of the group and welcome in any thread!!This is a great thread on the purchase agreement. Includes a video from Tim of Long McArthur Ford on what to do to to protect yourself. Near the end of the first page of the thread is the wording a guy used to get a purchase agreement.

Yes yes yesIs that an order # top right? Did everybody sign it? And did you get an order confirmation from FORD shortly after you ordered (got mine before I got home?. Also, did you make a deposit ($500.00)?
My only hope is that someone at Ford gets so annoyed by my memes that they get me a build date to make it stop.Quit being so paranoid and get back to posting memes!!! The men in black suits are keeping an eye on you….
Who will win the waiting game, FOMOCO or @mamboman777My only hope is that someone at Ford gets so annoyed by my memes that they get me a build date to make it stop.![]()

First, I’m paranoid too. I called Ford customer service. They have been wonderful both times. They confirmed everything was right on track with the order. That's absolutely a concern, too... What would you do if that happens?
Did you call your dealer customer service or corporate?First, I’m paranoid too. I called Ford customer service. They have been wonderful both times. They confirmed everything was right on track with the order.
second, I was at my dealer a couple days ago, and directly asked how they handle orders. I asked because they got a loaded Lariat, and marked it up $5k. I asked what the dock fee will be and if they are going to honor MSRP. They confirmed dock fee was $500 and they do not mark up orders. Now, could they decide to mark it up after this conversation? Of course! It’s also possible they could mark up everything $20k. Heck, it’s possible they could decide to become a Chevy dealer. Anyway, the possibilities are endless, but I assume they care at least a little about customer relations. Man, I wouldn’t sweat that. Ask them. If they tell you no markup, then I think you should be able to rest well until your order comes in.
Yours truly,
Equally Paranoid Soon-to-be Mav Hybrid Owner
